Balut

Balut is the very famous delicacy in the Philippines. The only delicacy that other country men may not try it. Many Filipinos abroad long to eatthe egg. A duck egg that is about to be hatched. Usually it's best at 14 days to 17 or 18 days old egg for the courageous one. The smell, taste , the looks may not be desirable yet it's taste is the best. Aside from that it's so nutritious that the nutrients is equivalent to a high protien foods like beef and pork.

You might wonder why balut is sold at night, this is because the looks of balut may not be desirable for the person who eats it. So it is suggested to be eaten in the dark inorder not to clearly see it. The feathers of the chick may be very distructive for the person whose eating it. But if you're used eating. Day or night it doesn't matter. Whatever is the time it's okay.


Now a days, to some men it's also good for more power and energy, especially the one that they desire at night. Older men who wish to do more for the love of their wife. For it always suggest a longer resistence to people like working at night or having graveyard duties. Many believe, this would help a lot.


Balut is sold in the streets of a crowded area like in the market or every corner of every street. In Cebu it can be found in Fuente, Colon, Carbon and anywhere else that people may gather at night.
