Will I set aside my antiquated book and replace it to e-book?

Align Left

I remember my High School days, two decades ago, when I still loved to stop by in the library and enjoyed reading my favorite books such as The Fall of Hyperion, Walking Trees: Teaching Teachers in New York City Schools andTehanu. As far as I can remember, they transformed my days into rainbows and turns out to be the easiest way to transport me to different places.

I was not and will not be alone. The kids of the new generation are the same. They also have the passion to flip over the chromatic world of the stories presented in books. Most children in the past had to endure the musty smell of the old books with no choice. But the children of this age don't need to put up with the antiquated books stocked inside the shelves. Now with the advancement of time, children can enjoy reading by just flipping the pages of an e-book.

E-book--a text with an image-based publication in digital form. The advantages sound music to the ears of the typical bookworms. Young and old the same. And take note, there are more than 2000 plus books available for download. Who can never enjoy that?

I still have a few of my books collected. I don't want to throw it away. I haven't thought about that, either. But time has transcend the most prevalent tools for learning. Cracking books and improving the mind to a much accommodating and easy way. Why not have one and be electrified with the wonders of it? Would that mean I no longer love my old books? Of course not.

Which one is for me, Netbook or Laptop?

Kids naturally love to play with toys--miniature dinosaurs and cars. Funny but not only kids love miniature stuff. There is this one in the electronic industry who made a constant modification to miniaturize bulky gadgets to a much smaller one. One example to this is the recently launched netbook.

How does it work? How is it compared to its elder sister laptop? And more than that consumers are now raising this questions saying, "Which one is for me? Netbook or Laptop?" You probably wish to have a new laptop because it is portable and its more of a personal.

Recent statistic shows that an estimated 39% of Americans now own laptop computer. And around the world is increasing in dispersion. But if you take this information seriously, I would suggest you to have netbook instead of laptop. If you are one of those who are fascinated with everything smaller, then I believe netbook makes a lot of sense.

Netbook is two-third the size of a typical laptop screen but a much enjoyable stuff to browse. Internet browsing and e-mailing seem to be the primary function of this. Laptop maybe copious a larger hard drives as well as a bigger amount of memory. But today, there's always a room for a bigger market, to a much handy, enjoyable fascinating style, trendy, and a more advance gadget for the net world. Not to mention the product's cost, it's less expensive. What do you think?

A Korean Student's view of the Philippines--worth it to be reflected by the country

Philippines is one of the most visited countries in the Southeast Asia because of its breathtaking scenic views. You'd never see and believe a landscape like Philippines do. The country possesses thousands of islands. To be exact 7, 107 islands. Who can ever explore the entire country with seven thousand plus wonderful islands. I for one never tried to see them all.

But not only the islands that are interesting about Philippines, there is this people and culture that also makes the island fascinating to visit. Western people would always love the adventure in the country. And one thing that also makes foreigners keep coming back is the fact that it caters a good venue for other Asian countries who wish to level-up their skills in English.

There is this article written by a Korean student that eventually moved me. He said in his article that "Koreans did not work just for themselves but also for their neighborhood and country. Education inspired young men with the spirit of patriotism." trying to talk about his countrymen and how they battle against poverty which they had 50 years ago.

In that article he also talked about the two jailers whom he met in one of a maximum-security compounds in the Philippines and said, "I have been to the New Bilibid prison. What made me sad in the prison were the prisoners who do not have any love for their country. They go to mass and work for Church. They pray everyday. However, they do not love the Philippines ." A comment from a single man who just visited the country. But made me silent for a moment. Somehow it's true. I partly agree and is shaken. Is this how Filipinos look like from other people in this world?

I couldn't say he is wrong but I couldn't say he is correct. Every person possesses an opinion. But I'm a Filipino. I know what's going on in the country. Everyday, I read news and live in reality. I see flaws and catch problems. But everywhere in this world has.

I know, Filipinos sometimes have this unconcern disposition. But not all are. I love my country. I cried for this country several times but it's not enough. Maybe Filipinos lifestyle is bad compared to other countries in Asia. But why are the people from rich countries come here and envy the smile and the genuineness of the Filipinos.

I'm not bragging. I don't want to brag about it. Who doesn't want to improve and be better. Everyone does. But if that would change my happiness to pressure and loneliness. Never mind. I'd rather be now and love to be here in my country. A live life to the fullest. Nobody needs to push me to study till early dawn just to get that degree that the majority wanted.

Yes, you can only achieve something through striving hard. But Filipinos strive everyday. Strive to live a life and be happy. Who needs to be blame? No one. Who must judge a person's condition? No one. There's always beauty underneath the gray color of the dust. And there is no need for me to polish gold to know it's gold.

A Korean Student's View of the Philippines

Why are we out of track in life most of the time?

Why are we out of track in life most of the time? Why do we just want to follow the people around us?Are we hoping to be right because they are? There are thousands of questions in this life. But I believe only a few of us asked the essence of our existence.

I usually ask students with this question, "What is the purpose of life?" Interesting question that sometimes ignite a person to give an annotated answer. But of all the answers that I gathered, I had this interesting story of a student named Daniel.

He said he doesn't really know what life means and so as its purpose. Most of his actions are made without further reflections and they were not directed to a certain aim. He thought, what the common people are doing is right. And acquiring all sorts of achievements would made him feel satisfied.

But with all honesty, he humbles himself and said, never in his life did he feel a bit of contentment. That he maybe is just one of the wanderers in this world. He recalled a story an realize. That once in his life, he was crazy of computer games. In the game, he tend to collect all the necessary stuff that would made him powerful enough to complete a task and eventually level-up. But the more he advanced in level the more he craved to magnify his position in the game.

But one time, as he was there on top looking at the other competitors, he found out that all the efforts he made was in vain. The achievements, he thrived to have never give him any happiness at all but emptiness. And questioned why was he playing the game? Why did he go on? Was that what he expect to have?

Like Daniel most of the time we thought life is about winning a contest, saving a lot of money, or maybe possessing properties. Not realizing that genuine happiness in life can't be found in the things we want to have but the things we always have but never recognize.

Love, peace, faith, contentment, friendship, trust and many more that doesn't require us from competing. Anyone who possesses all these have lived life to the fullest. Not following other people but one's heart.

Now, Daniel is hoping to be very happy. He said, he want to find love and be loved. He wants tofollow his heart and never be lost again.

Is the purpose of waking up a big deal?

Almost all people rise every morning possessing different reasons. But at times students, teachers, lawyers, vendors, businessmen, even presidents wake up every morning with no definite aim.

I remember, my mom got up so early just to prepare the table for us to have our breakfast before going to school. Everyday, she hums an upbeat melody that makes us wonder why she feels so happy most of the time. She seemed not tired doing something. One day, I asked her why she kept the habit very early for us. But she just simply said that she wanted it and she's happy.

I also remember my student who served in the army for six years and uttered all sorts of bad-mouthing towards himself every time he wakes up. He told me that as soon as he opened his eyes and dragged himself to be awake, he conceived thousands of bullshit in his mind. He thought at that life isn't worth it to live for. For him his life was a mess.

There are times, I woke up forgetting the reason why I had to. Forgetting the purpose of my existence and the reason why I'm still awake. But I'm not alone. How many people in this world who seem to do many things in a day just not knowing why they have to do that?

Why do I need to talk about waking up? What's the big deal about it? Will life change if someone knows why he has to wake up? The answer is YES. Having a purpose makes it more easier for the person to reach his daily goal, meet the obstacles and embrace happiness.

Having a reason to wake up everyday makes a person able to sustain life. My mom knows her purpose. She knows why she wakes up. And she knows all the obstacles, how to meet them and be happy. But my student never realize the beauty of life because he never have any aspiration at all.

I am a teacher, a mother and a friend. I wake up inspired everyday for my students, my children and my friends. I know I am going to be on their side whatever will happen and doing that will always be my happiness. I wake up with a purpose and sleep fulfilled.

How is it like to have the RFID

The present world introduces the advantages of Science and Technology to live life in a much easier way. Great inventors created a highly advance system that not only caters a country's needs but the entire world.

Credit Cards, Smart cards, national ID system, Bar-codes and now a chip that will finally bring somebody to feel like an elite. Now introduced: (RFID) Radio-frequency identification--a small electronic chips implanted in the right hand of any person who desired to have it. It will soon to be the future.

It is the future of surveillance. In this way, you no longer need to answer questions from guards of an establishments. At The Baja Beach Club in Holland a few special VIP's who are different from a normal party goers. They enter the club without the need of identification or credit cards and cash to buy something in.

In the name of security, RFID is helpful for parents and pet owners in the future who wanted to track kids and pets who are lost. But as this issue get hotter, the more amazing they get, the more controversies they get.

Now, the people in the world has to think not only with their security but as well as their privacy. With RFID, every information you got, will be recorded. The chips collect unlimited information including the problem every person has.

Technology is unstoppable. Sooner, everyone will have RFID implanted in our body. Sooner, we will be tracked wherever we go. Sooner, we don't have our own privacy.

How Do Pheromones Operates to Human Mind?

Pheromones
are chemical signals first discovered as a sex attractant in insects. Science record several study regarding a particular chemical excreted by an insect that triggers a social response from the members of the same species.

But do pheromones operate the same way in mammals.? Accordingly, reproductively relevant social-environmental odor cues may interact with the genetic substrates of mammalian behavior. Simply true, humans also appear to have have an active pheromones and is read by a cell tissue in our brain--the most important organ involved associated with behavior.

How does pheromones function to humans? Pheromones function in the selection of a partner and even in dealing with the people surrounding a person that aggregates pheromones. This has been found in Cleopatra the Queen of Egypt who was said to have a hundred lovers.

Nowadays, there are few perfume and cologne products which are said to have the chemicals needed to attract the opposite sex. But there's this truth that I want to tell you. We have enough chemicals in our body that attracts the man who is suited for the pheromones we possess.

Truly love is a mystery. There are thousands of reasons and explanations of why a man falls in love to woman. But what ever it is true. We all know that human being as we are, we are capable of falling not just with the superficial.

Older WOMAN, Younger MAN in Marriage

The world has changed a lot and it keeps changing. The past was far beyond the present. And the changes are quite obvious.

Centuries ago, men normally searched for women at least in their age or mostly younger than them. This is due to the norms in the past, making women subject for men. Men in the past ruled and dominated, making them the authority at home as well as in the society. At that time woman's opinion are rarely accepted. And mostly, they are rejected and taken without importance.

Since people evolved in their way of living, concepts, views and approaches also transcend. The present turns out to be the total opposite of the past at times.

Today, relationships and even marriages is assimilated adversely by most conservatives. And one of the issues which are commonly misunderstood is the marriage between an older woman and a younger man.

Unavoidably true, man nowadays tend to look for woman older than them. A few contradict but the trend is unstoppable. In America and in some parts of Europe, the case is not already taken as an issue. Recently, a few in some parts of Asia embraces it.

Among them, thousands of couple are believed to be successful. It proves that huge age gaps and age differences between spouses doesn't really affects the success in marriage.

How many old people act immature? How many older husbands pass their burdens to their younger wives? And how many marriages turn out happy even in the huge differences? It's the understanding and love that matters not the said differences.

Perhaps, the world has opened its eyes and consider things even if it's far beyond the norms. I for one agree that age doesn't matter but the maturity of the person does.

Is it wrong to Cohabit?

Who says what’s good and what’s not? WE. Only people justifies everything that's going on in this world. Only people implement rules to make things justifiable. For it’s actually us alone that defines what’s is supposed to be done.

Looking back to the History of mankind when man was still simple and do not possess that complicity of the mind, man was happy and contented. And during this time legal partnership still didn't exist. Couples were united not just because of a certain ceremony but because they have to follow a particular tradition.

Most ancient societies needed a secure environment for the perpetuation of the species, a system of rules to handle the granting of property rights, and the protection of bloodlines. The institution of marriage handled these needs.

But things change as time pass by. The simplicity of life has transformed into a much complex world. And so man build rules to mandate everyone and to stick to it in order to maintain peace.

But when did man define marriage? When did man started to think that partnership should only be between two people? And so marriage was born. At first was it really for morality? No. Never. That was never the purpose of it. And here is another thing, most couples in the past didn’t marry because they were in love but for economic liaisons and to follow the decisions from parents.

So why do we condemn and criticize those people who stay together and love. They may not be legally bound with each other but they fall in love. I think that's the most important thing about it.

Cohabit. Moral or immoral? I don't think so. It's not that it's a trend but it's like going back to our past. So, I never believe that it’s all wrong to cohabit, fall in love forever, respect each other and live life as a couple without the legality of marriage.

What is wrong is when you belittle a persons status. For what? For you to be lifted up?

Where does confidence really come from?

Some people appear naturally confident but guess what? They've learned how to be that way from just a single idea. How did it happen and who instill that idea?

A child usually possesses ideas but limited. And this ideas are fragile, changeable and easily thrown away. Every idea instilled in the mind of a child is as important as a seed planted in the soil. Every mind is capable of raising an idea. And every idea has the ability to transform a person.

Let's take a look at great men in the world. Let's mention a few like Leonardo the Vinci, Benjamin Franklin, Pierre and Marie Curie including Irene their daughter. Why do you think they became great? Why have they proven something? Was it just natural? Was it all fate? Sometimes we say yes. But it wasn't as simple as that.

Sometimes it's hard to believe that simple ideas like "You can do it!" or " I believe you" is already a big deal for a vulnerable mind such as that of a child. Let us not forget that an example of faith from the people in an environment could be the seed of a child's faith as well.

So parents install the greatest part of the confidence that a single child possesses. And this is acquired through the gestures and words that any parent could do.

I've seen a few children who are afraid of taking exams or joining competitions. Why do you think they behave this way? And why others are not? Because it's all in the mind. Everyone is not worried about failing but anxious about losing the confidence that the closest people have upon each of us.

Why the people I've mention above became great? It's all because they had the trust and the faith that their loved one's had to them. Great trust I believe. It made a person fully confident. And surely raise another confident person like Pierre and Marie Curie.

How a broken relationship turns into friendship

You may be thinking that there is no way you can get your ex and regain the charm in your love life. For hundreds of reasons people had a hard time patching a broken relationship. A few never give up and a few tries to fix it. Some people made it but some unfortunately didn't.

A broken relationship is as hard as you are fixing a broken mirror. They may be attached to each other but there is no way for you to see a clearer reflection again. One way or another, the relationship will be broken again and again. Repeatedly as a cycle. And that may hurt someone more than just letting go of it.

But there's another option to do. A better option. That prerogative is not to forget the person and believe he or she never exist which is somehow a stupid action.

Who can ever forget a person you once shared with? In good times or bad, a person once crosses to your path can never be forgotten. What about the time you invested and the moments you've shared? Were they just nothing? No, not for sure.

The alternative that I'm talking about is to have your ex lover--your friend. Isn't that better. With it, the time spent was not in vain but be a part of a good relationship instead.

How can that be possible? How can you be friend to the person who once cheated you and hurt you? Remember nothing is impossible. Here are few tips to do it.

First, is the acceptance that your relationship won't work when you stay as a lover. Second, is forgiveness to the person that once cause you mental pain. And third is to give way to the relationship to just being friends.

Would that be easy? No, not at all. For many would rather forget what happen and leave it. But one thing, I know a few who ended good and never regretted that they've chosen to become friends. which made them happier than what they used to have.

Why Filipinos are qualified to write and get payed?

Who could ever thought anybody can write and get payed? In the Philippine, it's never in the mind of most people that writing sensible articles can be a job. But this doesn't mean they don't know how to write. Thousands of Filipinos love to write and even be more creative about it.

Yes, earning is what make other people move. In the Philippines, people don't really think that earning can be as simple as staying at home. Here in the country, almost all people think that you have to go to work punch in and out in the company and get payed in a day.

English is widely used in the country and it has been proven already by many. Over 90% speaks well and even write. But this people hardly believe in earning by just using one's spare time. Who could ever believe that?

Funny but I was once like them. Long before, I laughed at articles-- writing about how to earn money by writing. But then I have this friend who gave me the link here and write articles. I love writing. That's usually my breakfast. But earning through it? I realized it can be possible.

There are thousands of feed that welcome freelance writer to post there articles and earn through it. Here in Bukisa you can see people earned thousands of bucks already just by writing.

Writing? "That sounds hard." "That sounds heavy." A common notions for people who don't give a heck. I perfectly understand. I sympathize. But earning through writing doesn't really mean to be like that.

Filipinos, I believe, possess a quality that made them qualified to be a writer and get paid. Millions of graduates and degree holders just stay idle at home doing nothing and not being productive. What are those degrees for? A few work under-employed and never receive a good compensation. Why endure all these predicaments? Why not do other jobs that do more than the usual. Why not write?

Now I'm inviting my friends to take a glance and write as well. With this I'm helping them. And they help themselves.

Why Koreans spent winter holiday in the Philippines?

White Christmas would seem to be a dream come true for the people in the tropics. In contrary, people who live in the cold countries like Korea usually spends winter vacation abroad. But why do they really like to spend in the Philippines? There are three things that made them choose the country.

First and foremost Koreans go abroad in winter because the weather in Korea is quite depressing. The lowest on the record was last 1933 in Junggangiin which was negative 43.6 degrees Centigrade. Who can ever imagine that?

When winter comes in Korea that is also the time when Philippines experience its best weather. Not to warm and not to cold. It is very much suitable for those people who can't endure the cold temperature and don't want an intense humidity.

Second, the Korean temperament is quite similar to Japanese. They don't want to be stuck in one place without doing anything. Koreans are active people. They're always on the go and love to explore the activities outside but this is hampered when it's winter time.

The outdoor activities that most Koreans wish to do during winter is also meet when they happen to visit Philippines. In the country they can get to see beautiful spots and scenery. There are thousands of beautiful white sand beaches which provide fun activities like rafting, banana boat riding, having a spectacular view under water with scuba diving and many more. All these are the things they couldn't enjoy in their country.

Third, Korean parents wanted their children to enhance their skills in English in an English speaking environment and only in winter vacation that they can do that wherein students is free for two weeks or more.

Most Koreans visit Philippines in winter because of English. English is widely spoken in the Philippines. It is used as the business language and the medium of instruction in schools and universities. Over 90% of Filipinos can speak and understand English well in either spoken or written form. Thousands of affordable ESL Tutorials cater an English camp for winter that is usually grabbed by parents who wish their children to improve their skills.

Choosing the Philippines for winter vacation is a total package. Everything that they desire were 90% achieved when they spend their vacation in the country.
